These 4 facts all belong to the same family
A tool that turns a multiplication into a picture. Choose two numbers up to 12 and see the fact as dots, equal groups, a rectangle, jumps on a number line or a fact family.
Dots set out in equal rows and columns. 3 rows of 4 dots show 3 × 4 = 12. Turn the array on its side and it shows 4 × 3, which is why the order of the numbers does not matter.
A rectangle whose sides are the two numbers. The number of squares inside is the answer, so a rectangle 4 wide and 3 tall holds 12 squares.
Three numbers linked by multiplication and division. 3, 4 and 12 give four facts: 3 × 4 = 12, 4 × 3 = 12, 12 ÷ 3 = 4 and 12 ÷ 4 = 3.
