The ones that trip people up
The 12 times table lists the multiples of 12: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120, 132, 144.
Split into 10 + 2: 12 × 7 is 70 + 14 = 84. Then practise for a few minutes a day, asking the facts in mixed order rather than reciting them.
12 × 7 = 84. It is the same fact as 7 × 12, so learning it once covers both tables.
12 × 12 = 144. A quick way: 12 × 10 = 120, plus 12 × 2 = 24, makes 144.
The last digits of the answers repeat in a cycle: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0.
The 12s take a little more practice than the easy tables, but the tricks on this page and short daily practice make them stick.
