The ones that trip people up
The 18 times table lists the multiples of 18: 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 126, 144, 162, 180, 198, 216.
Split 18 into 10 + 8: 18 × 7 is 70 + 56 = 126. Then practise for a few minutes a day, asking the facts in mixed order rather than reciting them.
18 × 7 = 126. It is the same fact as 7 × 18, so learning it once covers both tables.
18 × 12 = 216. A quick way: 18 × 10 = 180, plus 18 × 2 = 36, makes 216.
The last digits of the answers repeat in a cycle: 8, 6, 4, 2, 0.
It is a challenge table beyond the usual 12 × 12. Splitting 18 into 10 + 8 makes every fact manageable.
