The ones that trip people up
The 6 times table lists the multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72.
Double the 3s: 3 × 7 = 21, so 6 × 7 = 42. Then practise for a few minutes a day, asking the facts in mixed order rather than reciting them.
6 × 7 = 42. It is the same fact as 7 × 6, so learning it once covers both tables.
6 × 12 = 72. A quick way: 6 × 10 = 60, plus 6 × 2 = 12, makes 72.
The last digits of the answers repeat in a cycle: 6, 2, 8, 4, 0.
The 6s take a little more practice than the easy tables, but the tricks on this page and short daily practice make them stick.
